Peter Mares


Peter Mares is a journalist and the author of No Place Like Home: Repairing Australia’s Housing Crisis, just published by Text. Peter is lead moderator with The Cranlana Programme, a not-for-profit organisation that promotes ethical leadership and a regular contributor to Inside Story magazine. He is also an adjunct fellow in the Centre for Urban Transitions at Swinburne University and previously worked for 25 years as a journalist and broadcaster with the ABC. His other books are Borderline, an award-winning analysis of Australia’s policies towards asylum seekers and refugees (2001), and Not Quite Australian: how temporary migration is changing the nation.
