Maria Pallotta-Chiarolli is a senior lecturer in the School of Health and Social Development at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. Her primary areas of interest are cultural, gender, sexual and family diversity. Maria is also a founding Member of AGMC Inc. (Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council), and a member of the Victoria Police LGBTIQ and Multicultural Communities Divisions.
She is the author of thirteen books, including Someone You Know (Australia’s first AIDS biography); Tapestry: Five Generations of Women in One Italian Family; Border Sexualities, Border Families in Schools and her first novel, Love You Two, both winners of US Lambda Literary Awards. Two other books, Bisexuality in Education and Women in Relationships with Bisexual Men have both won US Bisexual Book Awards.
