Harrison Tippet

Harrison Tippet made the 160km journey down the Princes Highway in 2016 to relocate from the northern suburbs of Melbourne to Geelong, after taking a role as a journalist at the Geelong Advertiser.

While he primarily reports on council matters as the newspaper’s City Reporter—and has dipped his toes into the world of podcasting—Harrison has a particular interest in writing feature stories on any and all subjects.
In August Harrison was lucky enough to win the Rural Press Club of Victoria’s 2019 Best Print Feature award for his look at homelessness in Geelong, titled ‘A million-dollar view from life on the streets’.

A love of the written word—and complete adoration for all things John Steinbeck—are constants in Harrison’s career and personal life.
