We Acknowledge Wadawurrung Traditional Owners of the land on which the Word for Word Festival takes place; their Elders past, present and emerging; and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our heartfelt thanks to Wadawurrung Traditional Owners for allowing us to incorporate the Wadawurrung word Nyaal (meaning: Open Your Eyes) into the festival theme for 2019 – the International Year of Indigenous Languages.
In particular, The Word for Word Festival wishes to acknowledge and thank Wadawurrung woman Corrina Eccles, for her invaluable assistance and guidance for this year’s festival.
